In the last post, “Why a Global Internet Work-from-Home Business (Part 1)”, I mentioned about the drastic changes that have occurred rapidly since 1995.  Two years later, governments in Asia were caught off-guard and soon were caught in the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. The Thai Baht was the first to be attacked in the middle of 1997, resulting in its subsequent severe devaluation, and very quickly, the currencies of South Korea and most of the South East Asian countries suffered similar fate. The Asian stock markets were aslo badly thrashed as a result.

How did all these unfortunate events happen and so quickly? It took the experts months after the crisis started before they realized it was due to the advent and rapid advance of the micro-chip, the speed of the technology of which is such that it allowed huge amounts of funds to be transferred out of Asia into the European and North American markets in split seconds at the press of the button on the computer keyboard! Many businesses were badly hit and countless employees, both professionals and blue collar workers alike lost their jobs as the after-effect.  Some of the jobs were permanently lost and never returned because technology has also reduced the need for more manpower. 

On the positive side, with such advanced technology of the chips which can be installed even in home micro-computers, soon almost every home has a desktop or laptop. Even for many third world countries, there was  a proliferation of internet cafes. All these augur well for wise individuals to learn how to start a global business from home leveraging on the internet irrespective of your current financial situation!

As a field leader in network marketing and meeting people from all walks of life on a daily basis, I have come across several professionals who have lost their jobs. One of the oft-repeated real-life stories I am accustomed to hearing over the last couple of years is loyal, experienced, hard-working and high-paying professionals losing their jobs. Some lost their job one after another within a period of just a few years! Suddenly, their years of expertise and experience become irrelevant! Today, for most career opportunities, once you are past 35 years old and should you lose your job, it will be quite difficult to find another one unless you are prepared to lower your expectations. Even then, it still does not guarantee you another job. 

Some of these factors mentioned above should be compelling enough reasons and motivation for you to start thinking of starting a part-time business from home through harnessing the power of the internet even if you are currently gainfully employed.

Some are really good opportunities and the people behind these advertisements seemed genuine by the way they promoted themselves on their websites. They gave the impression that they are there to help you to succeed before you decide to sign up with them. However, after you have signed up with them, they will not answer your calls and even though they provided their skype id, they simply ignored your chats. Messages left on their phones never get a single return call from them.

Raymond Sun – Full Time GLOBAL internet marketer!

 I specially and intentionally highlighted the word “GLOBAL” and you will begin to understand why as you read the following and towards the end and in Part 2 of this article to finally understand some of the compelling reasons why you should start working towards personal, time and financial freedom through building your very own Global Internet Work-from-Home Opportunity and earning Multiple Streams of Income (MSI).  I have also learned over the years that you should not stay loyal to one company or just one type of business!

I have been involved with sales and marketing (by the way, there is a big world of difference between sales and marketing which I will share in future articles)  for more than 20 years now (since 1987)  – from a small local retail business to local life and general insurance to “GLOBAL” network marketing with the last 4 years using internet marketing strategies successfully. After 1995, the changes have become even more sudden, rapid and scary and affected people from all walks of life regionally and globally: the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997, the sub-prime mortgage in 2007 and the subsequent banking crisis in the United States and Europe (that also affected several countries around the world), the major political crisis in the Middle East early this year and a series of natural disasters across the world, from the 2004 earthquake and tsunami in Sumatra, Indonesia, the extensive flood in Brisbane, Australia in January 2011, the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand last year and this year, the triple whammy of the Japan earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis and many , many more.

Can you imagine what it will be like for your loved ones and you if you are one of the victims in any one of those crisis and disasters? What will happen to your job or business, for days, months or even years to come? Many people from the working class, professionals and even successful business people have been caught off-guard and lost their jobs, businesses, homes and even resulted in family breakdowns as a consequence. When disasters come, it doesn’t matter or differentiate if you have multiple educational degrees, high IQ, years of experience, etc. It “strikes and kills” when you are most unprepared!
